ACEO size, 2 1/2" x 3 1/2"

The first red rose of the year from the bush next to our front door came into my room, as ~kitten42 offered it to me as a challenge. I've spent two days finishing it and love it, this was done with the complementary underdrawing technique from Masterful Color by Arlene Steinberg. And done from life, though by the end I was mostly looking at the rose for color since it did become full blown and this morning started to droop.

ACEO Red Rose is also available on eBay, click the auction link or search Robs Art on eBay.

Thank you! Check out today's listings, one of the things I did was a 99 cent doodle mandala that I think you might really enjoy, it reminded me of you while I was doing it. Rainbow colors in penwork, almost calligraphic in some parts.

Awww thank you! I should remember this when I've got a gal IRL in front of me -- lucky we have the bush right in front of our house!

Yes, indeed! It is still too early in the season here on the East Coast, for our roses in our gardens to flower, but I figure that in a week or two they should begin to bud. We have three Red climbing Blazes, A Deep red-nearly black Tea, a VERY Fragrant Red, and White striped Floribunda called Scentimental, a Blue Girl Tea, a Peace Tea, My favorite Yellow Tea (which the variety name escapes me), an Ebb Tide floribunda, and finally my husbands favorite, The John F. Kennedy Tea. I soon will posting pictures of our gardens for stock and references for anyone to use. :excited: Right now, all our Irises are outstanding!!!! We will have to divide them this fall and either sell some or give away the extras. Irises just Adore our climate!
